Today NYPD Commissioner O’Neill announced the firing of police officer Pantaleo. While we each have a right to our opinion, the fact still remains we have a job to do.
With that being said, regardless of your thoughts, right, wrong or indifferent, that decision from City Hall just made our jobs that much more complicated and dangerous, specifically while responding to edps, violent incidents, calls that require both ems an pd.
Criminals and edps are going to be emboldened.
Allow PD to control the scene, if it’s not safe or becomes unsafe, remove yourselves immediately.
The safety of our members is paramount.We ask all our members to be vigilant and cautious at all times.
Do not rush in to any incident that you feel or if there’s any suggestions to potential of danger.
Do not transport any edps without escort.
Never leave sight of your partner.
Stay focused, the objective is for you and your partner to end your tour safely.
