This year, the Bureau of Health Services will be conducting our yearly BIOPOD exercise in a different format. There will be multiple POD locations throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC on either a Saturday or Sunday in the month of October, and one in November.
ALL FDNY Fire and EMS field units will be dispatched to a particular POD as always, and this operation is now open to off-duty Fire and EMS and all civilian personnel to come and get their FLU SHOT.
When reporting to a POD, you must show a Valid Department ID, this opportunity is on your own time, and if field units are in the POD, they will be given priority as there is a mandate to return them to service as quickly as possible.
BHS hopes that our off-duty Fire, EMS and all civilian population will take advantage of this opportunity to get their FLU shot; all COVID 19 precautions will be adhered to – you must wear a mask, social distancing protocols will be in place, hand sanitizer will be available onsite. POD Managers will be onsite to ensure all FDNY personnel comply with safety precautions and flow throughout the process. We ask for your cooperation in protecting yourself and other members of the FDNY.
