DC 37 Scholarship Award Guidelines

The DC 37 Education Committee offers a number of scholarships for dependent children and grandchildren of eligible DC 37 members or retirees, and active members pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degrees. No applicant may receive more than one Education Committee scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
The applicant or the applicant’s parent, grandparent, or legal guardian must be a union member in good standing for the twelve (12) month period immediately preceding the application deadline. If the member is a retiree, he or she must be a member in good standing of the DC 37 Retirees Association.
Student applicants to the scholarship program must be either a) a graduating high school senior; b) a student currently enrolled in their first or second year of a 2-year of 4-year accredited college, university, technical or trade school during the specified school year; or, c) an active member pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
The applicant must be accepted at an accredited institution, located in the United States, at the time of award. WHILE NOT REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION, NO AWARDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED UNTIL A CURRENT BURSAR’S RECEIPT FROM THE ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO THE COMMITTEE.
Application Instructions
All applications must be postmarked by Friday, April 17, 2020. Please double check that you have included all of the items requested in the Application Checklist and mail your completed application by April 17, 2020 to: Magaly Rosario, DC 37 Education Committee Scholarship Program, 55 Water Street, 23rd Floor, New York, NY 10041.
Late submissions will not be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email no later than May 31, 2020 and will be invited to the awards reception in June 2020. For additional questions please email scholarships@dc37.net or call 212-815-1700.
