Today, June 7th, is Bill’s birthday. I invite you to view the Second Annual William F. DiPietra Foundation Photography Exhibition which goes live today on our website, wfdfound.com.
During the past three years Bill’s Foundation has distributed over $50,000 in grants and awards to students at Long Island University, Fordham University, Archbishop Molloy High School and St. Elizabeth Catholic Academy. Since the Foundation’s mission has always been to support media arts students, young filmmakers and causes with special meaning for Bill and our family, donations have been made to the EMS FDNY Help Fund, FDNY Honor Emergency Fund, FDNY Family Transport, FDNY Pipes and Drums, Holy Child Jesus Teen Drama Group, Film Forum, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and many more.
None of this would be possible without the continued support and generosity of our donors, Bill’s family and friends and the strangers who visit the Foundation website and are touched by his story. Thank you all for honoring Bill. His love of film, his dedication to FDNY EMS, his courage when faced with illness, and his generous spirit will now live on in the hearts of so many.
